MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of Maddy Michaels is to spread awareness about current real-life issues like mental health and bullying and bring positivity and encouragement through her music and uplifting lyrics.
Maddy Michaels is a singer-songwriter and performer from San Jose, CA. At eight, Maddy began classical voice lessons. At eleven, she attended 80’s pop singer-songwriter Debbie Gibson’s Electric Youth Summer Camp, where she received professional acting, voice, and dance training. She also recorded a demo with Debbie of her original song called “Keep Trying.” From 2014-2016 Maddy majored in music at Valley Christian Conservatory of the Arts, and in Summer 2015 and 2017, Maddy attended SMV Vocal Jazz Camp directed by Grammy-nominated artist Jeremy Fox. In 2016, Maddy was accepted to Berklee College of Music, one of the top music schools for contemporary and jazz music performance. While being at Berklee, Maddy returned to songwriting and has learned a lot about music production.
Maddy mainly sings pop and jazz but also sings R&B and Musical Theatre. Her goal is to bring awareness to current real-life issues through her music and uplifting lyrics. Maddy writes about her own experiences with bullying and mental health, which makes her lyrics honest and inspiring. She hopes that people can relate to her music on a personal level. Her song “Sanity” explains her experiences with anxiety and how she has gotten through hard times. Maddy’s musical and songwriting influences include Jewel, Leona Lewis, and Demi Lovato.
